Reading auction demand in context.

A bid-to-cover ratio means more when issuance size and benchmark status are made explicit.

THE CONTEXT

Start with the question.

A simple comparison of bid-to-cover ratios can hide differences in auction size and security status. The project studies those relationships in Danish government bond auctions.

THE WORK

Make the steps explicit.

I initiated and led the project, developed the analytical approach and SAS Viya diagnostic, and presented the team’s work at SAS Innovate 2026. The analysis used descriptive statistics, size-conditioned comparisons and diagnostic regressions.

  1. Take ownership of a precise research question
  2. Develop the analysis and working SAS diagnostic
  3. Communicate the findings and their practical interpretation

THE RESULT

What the work supports.

The Benchmark Team reached the SAS Curiosity Cup 2026 finals. SAS subsequently featured the project on its official community site. The study examines why demand ratios need to be interpreted alongside issuance size.

SCOPE & EVIDENCE

Where the conclusion ends.

The historical relationships are descriptive evidence. They do not by themselves demonstrate future trading performance, a causal effect or an investment signal that works out of sample.
