Reconstructing the state behind a Treasury award.
An independently developed SAS Viya prototype that reconstructs historical Treasury SOMA awards and makes the supporting evidence inspectable.
Inside the projectFINANCE · BUSINESS · APPLIED ANALYTICS
I’m Piotr Pach. I bring hands-on business experience to financial research, following questions from the first “why” to analysis and working prototypes.
My ambition is to build a company around a financial problem I can solve well. I’m doing the research, building the tools and looking for people who want to contribute.

Research I have initiated and developed, tools I have built, and findings I have taken beyond my own desk.

Inside the project
I initiated and led this finalist research project, developing the analytical approach and SAS Viya diagnostic for Danish sovereign auctions.
Inside the projectAn original study of 211 Canadian issuance events, examining the difference between comparable pricing and the way benchmark scale is built.
Inside the projectAn independent analytical project I initiated during my Matter internship, extending ESG data-quality work into scenario-based financial research.
Inside the projectSOMA is the strongest empirical result within SSI, my independent financial research initiative. I’m investigating whether that capability can solve a specific professional problem and become the basis of a useful business.

Running a business taught me that an interesting idea has to meet a real need.
I’ve managed purchasing, pricing and inventory in my own retail business, developed export relationships and investigated new markets. Those experiences still shape the way I approach a problem: understand what matters, check the assumptions and work out what can be done.
At ChurchDesk, I researched market-entry opportunities. At Matter, I checked AI-extracted ESG information against original sources and initiated my own scenario-analysis project. I now bring that commercial perspective to independent financial research and analytical development.
I’m interested in the point where a good question can become something useful. Sometimes that means a better explanation. Sometimes it means building and testing a tool. My longer-term goal is a company of my own, grounded in a problem I understand.

Short reflections from projects I’m working on: what prompted the question and what changed when I looked more closely.
Reproducing a financial number is one task. Establishing what it means for someone’s work is another.
04 / SHARED WORK
A conference presentation, an official SAS feature and a research poster. Work that can be examined, discussed and challenged.

I initiated and led the Benchmark project, developed the SAS Viya diagnostic and presented the team’s work at SAS Innovate 2026.
The project reached the SAS Curiosity Cup finals and was featured by SAS on its official community site.
