Green bonds as collateral.
A study of haircut distributions, bond characteristics and monetary-policy transmission.

RESULT
Comparing the haircut distributions
The chart shows similar central haircut levels across the plotted green and conventional groups, with a broader range of observations among conventional bonds. It gives a descriptive view of the sample alongside the study’s analysis of collateral and liquidity.
CONTEXT
Green bonds in a collateral framework
I examined green bonds through the way collateral is treated and used. The research brought together haircut information, bond characteristics and monetary-policy context, with comparisons across the Eurozone and U.S. groups in the dataset.
MY WORK
Building a panel from several sources
I assembled a bond-level panel using ECB collateral data, Refinitiv bond characteristics and macroeconomic series. I compared distributions and examined the relationships with haircut adjustments and policy events.
- Bring collateral and bond characteristics into a panel
- Compare the haircut distributions across groups
- Examine the institutional context of the results
